Podiatry for Lilyfield patients at Hyper Health Marrickville
Podiatry at Hyper Health is delivered by Ray Nguyen, whose practice centres on thorough gait analysis and lower-limb assessment. Ray holds a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Podiatric Medicine, and has worked across hospitals, aged care and multidisciplinary allied health settings.
Appointments for Lilyfield patients are seen at our Marrickville clinic at Shop 1/20-22 Station St, open seven days. Because we also have chiropractors, physiotherapists and massage therapists on site, problems that turn out to sit above the foot do not require a separate referral and a three-week wait — we can bring a colleague in directly.
What an initial appointment involves:
- A history covering your symptoms, footwear, activity and any relevant medical conditions
- A physical assessment of joint range, strength, skin and circulation
- Gait analysis, walking and running where relevant
- A working diagnosis explained in plain terms, and what it means for you
- A treatment plan with a realistic timeframe, and the cost of anything recommended stated up front
We are registered for private health rebates with HICAPS on site, and we see NDIS participants — see our NDIS podiatry page for how that works.
Book podiatry at MarrickvilleWhat we are actually looking at
Walking and running gait is assessed across the full chain: how your foot contacts the ground, how it loads through midstance, how efficiently it converts to a rigid lever at push-off, and what your knee, hip and pelvis do while that happens.
Deviations at any point create compensations elsewhere. A stiff first toe joint changes push-off, which changes hip extension, which loads the lower back. Treating the back in that scenario produces temporary relief at best.
Video analysis lets us slow that sequence down and show you what is happening rather than simply describing it.
From findings to a plan
An assessment that ends with a description is only half done. You should leave knowing which finding is driving your symptoms, which are incidental, and what specifically changes it — strength work, mobility work, footwear, orthotic therapy, or a referral.
We will also tell you what we expect to see improve and by when, so you have something concrete to measure against.
