Podiatry for Croydon patients at Hyper Health Marrickville
Podiatry at Hyper Health is delivered by Ray Nguyen, whose practice centres on thorough gait analysis and lower-limb assessment. Ray holds a Bachelor of Health Science and a Master of Podiatric Medicine, and has worked across hospitals, aged care and multidisciplinary allied health settings. Appointments for Croydon patients are seen at our Marrickville clinic at Shop 1/20-22 Station St, open seven days. Because we also have chiropractors, physiotherapists and massage therapists on site, problems that turn out to sit above the foot do not require a separate referral and a three-week wait — we can bring a colleague in directly. What an initial appointment involves: - A history covering your symptoms, footwear, activity and any relevant medical conditions - A physical assessment of joint range, strength, skin and circulation - Gait analysis, walking and running where relevant - A working diagnosis explained in plain terms, and what it means for you - A treatment plan with a realistic timeframe, and the cost of anything recommended stated up front We are registered for private health rebates with HICAPS on site, and we see NDIS participants — see our NDIS podiatry page for how that works.
Talk to UsWhen orthotics are worth it
Custom orthotics work by changing how force is distributed through your foot during stance. Where a problem is genuinely driven by that distribution — persistent plantar fasciitis, posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, forefoot overload, certain arthritic patterns — redistributing it produces real, measurable relief. Where the problem is driven by strength, tissue capacity or training error, an orthotic addresses none of the cause. It may take the edge off symptoms while the underlying issue continues. We assess first and recommend second. If a prefabricated device or a footwear change would achieve the same result for a fraction of the cost, that is what we will tell you.
Footwear advice that is actually specific
Generic footwear advice is close to useless. The right shoe depends on your foot shape, the stiffness of your first toe joint, your calf length, your body weight and what you intend to do in them. Bring the shoes you actually wear to your appointment, including the worn-out pair you keep meaning to replace. Wear patterns tell us more about how you load than any static assessment can.
